Add a cool clickable photo grid to your WordPress website
This is an effect I did on a client’s website. Unfortunately that client is retiring, so her photo grid of testimonials will soon disappear. Before that happens I wanted to make a tutorial to show you how to do it on your own site.
This is what the photo grid in action looks like:
The plugin is called Gallery PhotoBlocks by WPChill. It allows for a variety of options, colors, display sizes, and clickable (or not) variations, all in the free version! I’ve used it on my client’s website for a few years and it is still functioning fine with the free version.
There is a paid version that has alot more cool features and options, which you can check out if you want to really take it to the next level.
In this video I share with you step-by-step how to add this to your website:
After the video, I came back and did some editing of the photo grid. I then realized that while you can set some to open a link in a new page, you cannot set just one or two to open in a lightbox without all the rest of the images (other than linked ones) also opening in a lightbox. This is controlled under the “Lightbox” tab on the grid page.
I did not explore all of the options in the video, but you can absolutely play around with it. I suggest making a small version of what you ultimately want and see what you can do! This way you won’t mess up a larger grid and will be able to screw things up without wasting too much time. You can also move the images around on the grid just by dragging them.

Have fun!
